About Hearth & Hide

Our Story

Hearth & Hide started in a small kitchen in Kentucky, the way most things worth building do — over a pot of soup, with a dog under the table and a stack of well-worn cookware on the counter.

We'd spent years furnishing our home the way the internet told us to: cheap, fast, replaceable. Particle-board shelves that bowed under cookbooks. A throw blanket that pilled in a month. Pet bowls that lasted one round of enthusiastic eating before they tipped. Nothing was built to be kept.

So we started making different choices. Cast iron instead of nonstick. Linen instead of polyester. A dog bed that an older pet could actually rest in. A throw blanket you could wash, fold, hand down. We noticed something: the things we kept were the things we'd built our routines around. The cast iron seasoned by a thousand breakfasts. The linen that got softer with every wash. The dog bed our senior retriever still climbs into at 11.

That's the line we're drawing. Hearth & Hide is the warmth you build a home around, and the companions who make it one. Two halves of the same room.

What we believe

Heirloom materials. Cast iron. Stoneware. Solid brass. Linen. Bamboo. Wood. These are materials that age with you instead of against you. They cost a little more. They last a decade longer. They get better with use.

Honest sourcing. We work with one primary fulfillment partner (CJ Dropshipping) and a few specialty suppliers we visit personally. We won't tell you a product is handmade in Vermont if it's pressed in a factory. We will tell you exactly what it is, where it ships from, and what to expect.

Designed for daily life. Every product we sell passes one test: does it survive a real household? Kids. Dogs. Spilled coffee. A wet dog. A curious cat. If it doesn't, we don't carry it.

What we don't do

We don't run flash sales every Friday. We don't fake scarcity. We don't ship products that wouldn't survive a year in our own homes. We don't bury our return policy in fine print.

We do offer a 30-day return window on everything we sell. We do ship free over $50. We do answer email in under 24 hours, Monday through Friday.

A note on pets

The "Hide" half of our name isn't a marketing line. Three of the four founders share their homes with animals. A 12-year-old golden retriever with a bad hip. A rescue tabby who has opinions about throw pillows. A very patient whippet.

Pet products in our store are the ones we'd buy for our own animals — orthopedic beds that actually support aging joints, slow feeders that slow a Labrador down, water fountains that don't grow algae in a week. If we wouldn't use it, we don't sell it.

About the parent company

Hearth & Hide is a trade name of Orange Agency LLC, a small family-run business registered in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. We launched in 2026 with a simple goal: a small catalog, well-made, honestly priced.

We don't have investors. We don't have a 50,000-square-foot warehouse. We have a Shopify account, a printer, a label maker, and a very patient golden retriever named Gus who has tested most of our pet products personally.

If you have a question, a complaint, or just want to say hi: hello@hearthandhidegoods.com. We read every email.
