What we collect
When you visit hearthandhidegoods.com or place an order, we collect:
- Account information: your name, email, shipping/billing address, phone number (for delivery only).
- Order information: what you bought, when, and the payment method used (we never see your full card number — payment processing is handled by Shopify Payments).
- Site usage data: pages viewed, items added to cart, device type, and approximate location. We use this to improve the site and you can opt out at any time.
What we DON'T collect
- We don't sell your data to third parties. Ever.
- We don't track you across other websites.
- We don't use third-party advertising cookies.
How we use your information
We use the data we collect to:
- Process and ship your orders
- Send you order updates and (only if you opt in) occasional newsletter emails
- Improve the site — what people look at, where they get stuck, what's hard to find
- Detect and prevent fraud
Who else sees your data
We share information with a small set of trusted service providers, all of whom are contractually required to protect your data:
- Shopify — our e-commerce platform (powers the store and checkout)
- Shipping carriers (USPS, UPS, DHL) — to deliver your order
- Email service (Klaviyo or Shopify Email) — to send you order updates and the newsletter
- Analytics (Google Analytics 4) — to understand how the site is used, with IP anonymization on
Your rights
You can request a copy of all the data we have on you, or request that we delete it, at any time. Email privacy@hearthandhidegoods.com and we'll respond within 7 business days.
Cookies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies (for your cart and login) and optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) to understand how the site is used. You can disable analytics cookies via the cookie banner that appears on your first visit.
Children's privacy
Hearth & Hide does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please email privacy@hearthandhidegoods.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. If the changes are material, we'll send you an email.
