Velvet Pillow Cover 18x18 — Hidden Zipper, Down Insert Optional

An 18"×18" velvet pillow cover made from a cotton-velvet blend that catches light differently depending on which way you brush it. The hidden zipper runs along the bottom edge — no flap, no exposed tab — so when the pillow is on the couch, all you see is the velvet. The seams are double-stitched with a 1/2" allowance, and the corners are mitred, which is the difference between a pillow cover that puckers at the corner and one that sits square.

The velvet is cotton-rich (82% cotton, 18% polyester), which gives it a softer drape than the all-polyester velvet that pills within a season. The hand is closer to what you'd expect from a heavier linen than a synthetic velvet. The cover is sold on its own, or as a set with a feather-down insert we stuff to 5 oz over — full enough to look generous, soft enough to flatten when you lean back on it.

Care Cover is machine-washable cold on gentle cycle, tumble dry low. Insert is spot-clean only. Iron on reverse with a pressing cloth.

The story We sold a velvet pillow to a customer who emailed us two years later asking for a second one in a different color. She said the first one had been through a kid, a dog, two apartments, and a cross-country move, and the only thing that had changed was the way the light hit it in the morning.
