Salt & Pepper Grinder Set — Adjustable Coarse, Acacia Wood

A pair of salt and pepper grinders with cast stainless steel grinding mechanisms and acacia wood bodies. The grinders are adjustable — twist the metal collar at the bottom to choose anywhere from a fine powder to a coarse, almost-cracked texture. We sized them at 8" tall and 2.5" wide, which is the right size to sit on a table without looking like a salt shaker set, and the right size to actually hold enough pepper to make it through a steak dinner.

The ceramic-grinder versions of this product were the ones we kept breaking. Ceramic is fine for salt, but peppercorns wear it out. Cast stainless holds its edge. The acacia body is finished with food-safe mineral oil; you'll want to re-oil it every few months, and the wood will darken slightly with use. Replacement grinder mechanisms are available — they're a 30-second swap if the day ever comes.

Care Wipe wood body with a soft dry cloth. Re-oil with food-grade mineral oil every 3–4 months. Grinding mechanism does not need cleaning.

The story The first set we ever sold had ceramic grinders on both ends. Six months in, a customer emailed us that her pepper grinder had stopped grinding. We replaced it. Then a second one. Then a third. We pulled the product, switched the pepper end to cast stainless, and have not had a single failure since.
